The Potted Pear
Heirloom & Espaliered Fruit Trees
About Us
We are Leroy and Sera Potter and we live on a small block of land in Waihi. This small business is just beginning (est 2021) but the idea has grown from our long-time love and passion for a self-sufficient lifestyle and the joy of eating food we have grown on our land. We also appreciate the beauty, efficiency, and productivity of espaliered fruit trees.
Espaliered trees are perfect for those living in smaller urban sections. Stemming from this is the versatility to keep the trees in a pot or grow bag allowing you to move the trees or take them with you if you have to move homes.
What We Provide
We provide a range of 1 year old heritage fruit trees, grafted and grown from our own orchard.
In time we will also provide pre-trained espaliered fruit trees, 2-3 years or older. As you can imagine, espaliering fruit trees can take some years, and our espaliers are still in training. All our espaliers will be sold in grow bags. You can keep them in these if you wish, transplant them into a pot, or plant them in your garden. They come with bamboo training stakes and a hand-stamped copper tag so that you will always remember the variety.
We have a catalogue available for download that lists our current available stock. You can see all the varieties we have in our orchard by clicking the "Our Orchard" tab at the top of the page. If there is something that is not currently available, please get in contact with us to see about upcoming stock, or to pre-order.d
